PowerDsine s Power over Ethernet (PoE) 3006 Midspan offers a cost-
effective, fully IEEE 802.3af compliant solution designed for the
Small Medium Business (SMB) market. The 3006 PoE Midspan allows an
easy, simple and cost-effective way for SMBs to deploy low-density
installations of powered terminals, such as Wireless LAN Access
Points (WLAN APs), network security cameras and Internet Protocol
(IP) phones.
For Wireless LAN deployments, the PowerDsine 3006 PoE Midspan
supports up to six WLAN APs, replacing current 1-port power
injector solutions that only support one dedicated powered
terminal.
* Remote Power Feeding
The PowerDsine 3006 Power over Ethernet midspan connects to legacy
Ethernet infrastructure, enables users to upgrade their existing
Ethernet switches and provide power over Ethernet capabilities. The
PowerDsine 3006 generates safe power over standard Category 5 unshielded
twisted-pair and shielded twisted pair cabling. By sending 48V, Ethernet
terminals such as wireless LAN access points, IP Phones and network
cameras are powered remotely. An external splitter may be installed
where a device is not standard compliant.

PowerDsine s 3006 Power over Ethernet midspan is fully compatible with
IEEE 802.3af standard.
* Centralized Power Distribution
Deploying a Power over Ethernet midspan in conjunction with a central
UPS provides a cost effective way to distribute backup power and ensures
uninterrupted operation of the network during electrical power failure.
* Advanced Auto-Sensing Algorithm
The PowerDsine 3006 midspan features a standard IEEE 802.3af auto-
sensing algorithm, providing safe power only to PoE enabled devices.
* Easy to Install
PowerDsine s 3006 Power over Ethernet midspan is a plug-and-play device.
Once turned on, it automatically detects all Power over Ethernet
terminals and supply Power over Ethernet.
* Concise LED Displays
Each port is monitored through the front panel by a bi-colored LED,
indicating normal, overload or short-circuit conditions. Additional
indicators are included for main power supply and self-test monitoring.
* Compact Design
PowerDsine s 3006 is a small and compact product, especially designed
for small business and low-port density installations.
